Finding 3 Cases Of Logging Due To Polio, Ministry Of Health Asks Residents To Ensure Immunization
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has asked residents to do a number of things including immunizations to anticipate the spread of the polio virus following the findings of three cases of acute depletion or Acute Faccid Paralysis/AFP which was caused by the type two polio virus.
"First, the public must ensure that children receive complete polio routine immunizations according to age, namely four polio drops and two polio injections before the age of one year," said Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Ministry of Health Maxi Rein Rondonuwu in a written statement, Friday, January 5, quoted by Antara.
Second, continued Maxi, to ensure that all children aged 0-7 years in all regions of Central Java and East Java Provinces, as well as Sleman Regency, DI Yogyakarta Province, receive two additional doses of polio immunization in the National Immunization Sub Week (Sub PIN) activity which will be carried out starting January 15, 2024. Third, implementing clean and healthy living behavior, including defecating (BAB) in latrines with septic tanks and washing hands with soap before eating and after defecating.
"Fourth, the public is advised to immediately report to the nearest health worker or health center if they find a child under 15 with symptoms of sudden depletion," he said.
