Turangga-KA Local Bandung Train Collision, Daop Surabaya Diverts 2 Train Trips Through Purwokerto
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 8 Surabaya diverted the operating lines of two trains to Bandung via Purwokerto following a train accident at KM 181+700 plots of Haurpugur Station - Cicalengka Station.
KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Public Relations Manager Luqman Arif apologized for the change in the operating pattern of the two trains.
The trains whose journey was diverted to the Purwokerto route from Gubeng Station Surabaya were the Pasundan train for the Surabaya Gubeng - Kiaracondong connection and Argo Wilis train for the Surabaya Gubeng - Bandung connection.
Luqman explained that the Pasundan train departed from Gubeng Station Surabaya at 05.50 WIB, while the Argo Wilis train departed at 08.15 WIB.
"We will continue to coordinate to convey the latest information regarding the train trip from and to the Daop 8 Surabaya destination," he said.
Regarding the fatalities or injuries of KAI officers or passengers from the accident, his party has not received the data from Daop 2 Bandung.
"Until now, we have not received the data from Daop 2 Bandung, we will continue to coordinate with Daop 2, especially as a result of the accident that will result in disruption of train trips from the Daop 8 Surabaya area," he said.
Previously, a collision occurred between the Turangga Train (KA) and the Bandung Local Train on the plot of Cicalengka Station, Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency, West Java.

The Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Ayep confirmed that the incident began when the two trains collided with each other at 06.03 WIB.
"Yes (true) in Cicalengka, the incident at 06.03 WIB was fighting a bull between the Turangga train and the local train and is currently in the process of being evacuated," Ayep said in Bandung Regency, Friday.
Until now, said Ayep, his party has not confirmed whether there were victims or not in this accident.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation sent a team to follow up and evacuate victims related to a train accident in Bandung Regency, West Java.
