PPLN Kuala Lumpur Clarifies Allegations Of Complicating Indonesian Citizens Election List

JAKARTA - The Kuala Lumpur Foreign Election Committee (PPLN) has again clarified allegations of making registration difficult for hundreds of thousands of Indonesian citizens (WNI) to enter the Permanent Voter List (DPT) to play the votes of certain candidate pairs (paslon).

PPLN spokesman Kuala Lumpur Puji Sumarsono said PPLN Kuala Lumpur ensured that it was not true that they made it difficult to even reject Indonesian citizens who wanted to register as voters for the 2024 election.

PPLN Kuala Lumpur, according to Puji, actually wants to ensure that Indonesian citizens in their working areas, namely the Kuala Lumpur Fellowship Area, Putrajaya Fellowship Area, Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak and Selangor are registered as voters.

"We will be greatly helped if the Indonesian citizen is pro-active to ensure that he is registered as a voter," Puji said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 4.

Menurut dia, di banyak kasus, mereka yang merasa tidak terdaftar hanya mengecek di https://cekdptonline.kpu.go.id hanya menggunakan satu dokumen saja, misalnya nomor paspor.

In fact, it turns out that they have registered using an ID card, or maybe they have been registered with an old passport.

"Therefore, to ensure that you have registered or have not asked to be checked with an old and new passport number, as well as with an ID card," said Puji.

For those registered with DPT elsewhere and want to move locations to choose in Kuala Lumpur, Puji welcomes to register via the Pplnkl.id/Cekdpt/add_select_move link. No later than February 4, 2024, and will enter the Foreign Additional Voter List category (DPTbLN).

As for those who have not registered either on the Foreign Permanent Voter List (DPTLN) or DPTbLN, he invites Indonesian citizens to register through Vplnkl.id/Cekdpt/add_elections and will be included in the Foreign Special Voter List (DPKLN) category.

"For those who have difficulty checking or registering online, please come to the PPLN KL Election Corner at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, officers will be happy to help," said Puji.

PPLN Kuala Lumpur firmly denied by saying that it is not true if they play votes to certain pairs of candidates.

"PLN KL is always neutral and works in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," said Puji.
