In Order To Prevent Vehicle Theft, Kia Installs This Security System In Several Models

JAKARTA - Not wanting to be constantly criticized for his easily stolen car, Kia, an automotive company from South Korea, introduced a cylindrical protective system that prevents the latest theft.

This is a form of protection against the rampant cases of theft of Kia vehicles that occur in the US.

The system was designed for vehicles that did not qualify for software security updates last year. This device is presented with the aim of strengthening the security system to prevent the theft of Kia vehicles.

According to a Carscoops report, Wednesday, January 3, the system can be installed in several models, starting from Forte 2011-2016, Rio 2011-2021, Sedona 2014, Sportage 2011-2016, and Soul 2010-2022. Vehicle owners can install this device for free by visiting the company's official website and entering the Vehicle Identification Number (NIK) as a feasibility confirmation.

Thus, the company will contact car owners and urge them to visit the nearest dealer to pair the device. The manufacturer will also put stickers as a marker of the vehicle that has used the device as a precaution for theft.

This effort is a response to the rampant crime sparked by social media, which highlights the weak security of a number of Hyundai and Kia vehicles. While theft continues, the company noted that it installed anti-stealing software on about 940,000 vehicles last year and has distributed more than 325,000 steering wheel locks.

Previously, the system had been installed in several Hyundai vehicles, including Accent 2011-2017, Elantra Coupe 2013-2014, Elantra Touring 2011-2012, Genesis Coupe 2011-2012, Santa Fe 2011-2012, and Veracruz 2011-2012.
