Anthony Joshua Aims For Trilogy Against Oleksandr Usyk
JAKARTA The former world heavyweight champion of the world of times, Anthony Joshua (AJ), has a great desire to target trilogy with the champion of Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk.
This British boxer has secured three wins in 2023 after losing twice in a row against Usyk, in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
His first win came in April 2023 against Jermaine Franklin. After that, he won over Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin, respectively in August and December 2023.
Now, there are already three big names in the plan to be Joshua's next opponent. The three names in question are Filip Hrgovic, Zhilei Zhang, and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said that despite the three names, his fighter is also eyeing a third clash against Usyk in order to regain the heavyweight title.

Duel Usyk vs Fury untuk memunitkan gelar WBC, IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO, rencananya akan terjadi 17 Februari 2024.
"The only thing AJ wants to do is appear in a big fight, win a heavyweight world title and fight Tyson Fury or get another chance against Usyk," Hearn was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.
The defeat against Usyk in the first meeting made Joshua have to lose the world title. He then tried to reclaim in their second duel, but failed to do so.
With the possibility of a duel against Usyk vs Fury winner, Joshua can reschedule this year's fight. That includes names like Andy Ruiz and Joseph Parker who have just won over Deontay Wilder.
"He looked amazing last week. The next five fights mean another year and a half, maybe two years. Currently, we are very excited to welcome 2024," Hearn said.
Joshua was previously on plan against Wilder after clashing with Otto Wallin. Unfortunately, the duel opportunity evaporated as Wilder lost.
