President Jokowi Appreciates The Settlement Of Construction 4,990 4G BTS

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appreciates the work of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology which succeeded in completing the construction of 4,990 4G BTS. The President emphasized that the completion of development priorities should not be delayed due to administrative and legal issues.

"After being chased for four months, the existing problems can also be solved, even though there are not a small number," he said in the Inauguration of the Operation of the 4G BTS BAKTI Kominfo Signal and Operational Investigation Unit 1 in Bowom Baru Utara Village, East Melonguane District, Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, Thursday, December 28.

The Head of State appreciated the assistance provided by the Attorney General's Office so that the project could be completed and did not cause greater state losses.

"Alhamdulillah, thank God, and thank God we convey to God Almighty, today the field issues, construction, can be resolved even though there are still 630 left in Papua," he said.

President Joko Widodo said the construction of BTS in the Papua region had big challenges so that his party ordered the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief to assist the implementation of the project so that it could be completed according to the target in 2024.

Connectivity infrastructure is needed by the community to reach and connect one region to another in order to strengthen national unity and integrity," he explained.

The Head of State emphasized that the development of connectivity infrastructure, including the sky toll road, is an effort so that all Indonesians have equal access to the digital world.

"We have built various connectivity infrastructures, we are also building a sky toll road so that all levels of society have equal access to the digital world, including in the development of BTS," he said.

Previously, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi reported the completion of the task for the construction of 4G BTS in leading, outermost, and underdeveloped areas (3T). According to him, by the end of this year, the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information has completed the construction of 4,990 4G BTS. Meanwhile, the remaining 630 4G BTS construction will be carried out in collaboration and support from the TNI and Polri.
