Private Vehicles Crowded With Merak Port
MERAK - Private vehicles at Merak Port, Cilegon City, Banten who were about to cross to Bakauheni, Lampung began to flock to crowded stalls waiting for the ship to dock.
"We are queuing at the Executive Pier to be able to go to Bakauheni, Lampung," said Zulkifli (50), a driver of a private vehicle aimed at Padang when met at the Merak Port Executive Pier, reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 29.
The condition of the dock at Merak Port is again crowded with pedestrian passengers and passengers on board the vehicle.
They were forced to queue at the dock waiting for the arrival of the Ferry ship so that it could be dispatched.
"We departed from Jakarta at 05.30 WIB and arrived at the Executive Pier at 20.30 WIB and had not been dispatched until 21.00 WIB," he explained.
Likewise, another driver of a private vehicle at Pier 1 Merak Arif Port (40) said he had been waiting at the pier for about an hour, but had not yet been dispatched.
Currently, vehicles are crowded and quite crowded until there is a queue while waiting for the arrival of the Ferry ship.
"We hope that at 21.20 WIB we can be dispatched to Bakauheni, Lampung," said Arif, aiming to Bengkulu.

Traffic control officers at the Executive Pier of Merak Port, Andri, said that currently private vehicles from various areas on the island of Java to cross to Sumatra are starting to get busy.
Private vehicles have queued at the pier at around 20.30 WIB, but traffic flow seems smooth.
"We are working hard so that traffic movements run smoothly and that pedestrian passengers and passengers on board the vehicle can be dispatched according to the scheduled departure," he explained.
Based on observations, ANTARA showed thousands of private vehicles are now queuing at seven piers at Merak Harbor to cross to Bakauheni, Lampung.
The vehicles lining up at the dock consisted of four wheels, buses and trucks.
