Lukas Enembe Dies At Gatot Subroto Army Hospital

JAKARTA - Former Papua Governor Lukas Enembe who was caught in a corruption case died today. Lukas breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Central Jakarta.

Lukas' attorney, Petrus Bala Pattyona, said that the defendant in the bribery and gratification case for the Papua infrastructure project died at around 11.00 WIB, Tuesday, December 26.

"Yes (Lukas Enembe died) at the Kartika Pavilion RSPAD. Now we are still in the treatment room waiting for readiness to be transferred to the RSPAD Funeral Home," Petrus said when contacted, Tuesday, December 26.

Petrus said Lukas' health condition had declined since undergoing trial for the case that dragged him.

"He's been in AD Hospital all this time. Since the trial, he has been treated at the RSPAD for dialysis," he explained.

It is planned that the family will take the late Lukas to Jayapura for burial on Wednesday, December 27 tomorrow.
