There Is No Solution, The Vice Presidential Candidate Debate Is Not Yet Concrete

The debate over the candidate for vice president (cawapres) has not been concrete because it does not produce solutions related to problems in the economic, trade, and infrastructure fields in the future.

According to an academic from Muria Kudus University, Darsono, during the last December 22 debate, the three vice presidential candidates, namely Muhaimin Iskandar, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Mahfud MD, were still explaining things that were macro and generic.

"It has not been seen significantly how the solution offered is based on installed endowment. Hopefully, it can be narrowed down about what is done reliably," he said, Sunday, December 24.

In addition, the discussion of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) which should be important to debate regarding its sustainability also does not show concrete arguments from the three vice presidential candidates.

Because, all cawapres only focus on subjective arguments. Darsono said that the three vice presidential candidates should focus on discussing the guarantee of equitable distribution in all regions if IKN is continued or not continued.

Equitable development, he continued, both in the infrastructure and in the economy is the right of all Indonesian people. Therefore, it would be better if the three vice presidential candidates were able to explain welfare guarantees to the public through the IKN program.

"Continuing IKN with a fairly large cost burden, does it guarantee economic equity? Maybe it will increase the cost burden that has become a boomerang for the people of Indonesia. Arguments that provide guarantees for equity at a fairly large cost, are not conveyed in the debate," concluded Darsono.
