Firli Resigns In The Middle Of The Ethics Trial, Novel Baswedan: Old Mode When He Was Deputy
JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan assessed that Firli Bahuri's inactive KPK chairman in the middle of a trial for alleged ethical violations was an old mode. The retired Bhayangkara Corps is said to have done things to avoid sanctions.
"This is Firli's old mode of action the same when the Deputy for Enforcement commits serious violations and then avoids by resigning," Novel said in a written statement to reporters, Thursday, December 21.
Novel reminded that this kind of mode should not be repeated. The KPK Supervisory Board was asked to immediately determine Firli's fate.
This mode should not be repeated, because it will become a bad pattern. This method will prevent violations from being completely disclosed so that other parties involved are not investigated," he said.
As previously reported, Firli Bahuri announced his resignation as chairman of the anti-corruption commission after meeting with the KPK Supervisory Board on Thursday afternoon, December 21.
Meanwhile, the KPK Council will actually determine the fate of the alleged ethical violation of the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri. They just need to examine the reporter and the reported party before giving the sentence to the retired Bhayangkara Corps.
"We will first compile the verdict (after all the examinations are completed, ed)," said member of the KPK Council Albertina Ho to reporters.

Albertina said that her party examined a number of witnesses to investigate the alleged ethical violations committed by Firli today. One of them is the boss of the nightclub, Alex Tirta.
The KPK Council finally tried Firli for the three violations he allegedly committed. The first is related to a meeting with former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The two ethical violations committed by Firli also relate to LHKPN that are not true, including debt.
Finally, an ethics trial will also be held regarding the rental of a house on Jalan Kertanegara Number 46. Firli is suspected of violating Article 4 Paragraph 2 letter a or Article 4 paragraph 1 letter j and Article 8 of the KPK Council Regulation (Perdewas) Number 3 of 2021.
