Tesla Prepares Wireless Electric Car Charging, Makes It More Relaxed At Home
JAKARTA - The well-known electric car manufacturer, Tesla, seems to have never run out of innovative ideas. Tesla recently confirmed that they were working on wireless inductive home charging. This was revealed by Tesla's chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen, in a video on Jay Leno's YouTube page while discussing Cybertruck.
"We're working on inductive charging, you don't even have to stand out at the time, just drive the car in the garage and start filling it," said von Holzhausen, as reported by Electrek, Thursday, December 21.
This wireless charging uses induction technology, where electric energy is transferred from charger to car without using a cable. This technology is commonly used on smartphones, but it is still not commonly used on electric cars.
Tesla has not provided further information about this wireless charging, such as how it is applied or the costs needed. However, if it is true that Tesla will present it, it will certainly be a very attractive feature for electric car owners.
Wireless charging will make electric car owners no longer have to bother connecting charging cables. Simply by parking the car in the garage, charging will automatically start.
In addition, wireless charging will also make the garage neater and cleaner. There are no more cables scattered on the garage floor.
