North Sumatra Simalungun Flash Flood, BPBD: Zero Casualties, Damaged Houses Carried By Lake Toba Flow
NORTH SUMATRA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that there were no casualties in the flash flood disaster that occurred in Nagori Village, Haranggaol Horison District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).
"On Wednesday (December 20) at 17.00 WIB, there had been a flash flood in the Haranggaol Horison sub-district which was suspected to have come from the Binanga Bolon Waterfall. From temporary data there were no casualties," said the North Sumatra BPBD Young Expert Disaster Management Manager Sofian in Medan, Thursday, December 21, confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the flash flood caused a number of material losses to the surrounding community, including a number of houses that were heavily damaged and carried to the Lake Toba flow.
"Two houses were severely affected and several people's graves were also washed away," he said.
In addition, he explained that electricity and traffic from Haranggaol District to Tigaras experienced disruption due to the flood.
"15 people have been affected, but there are no refugees yet," he said.

For this reason, he said, the North Sumatra BPBD had coordinated with the local government to conduct a review of all the locations of the incident.
"The flood is still ongoing, the community has been evacuated. BPBD and related parties are still collecting data and studying at the location," he said.
