Jokowi Finds That the Price of Cayenne Pepper and Red Onions Has Dropped at the Waru Market in East Kalimantan
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo found that the commodity prices for cayenne pepper and shallots at Waru Market, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, were in quite good condition.
"This is checking the prices on the market in Penajam Paser Utara. I see that it is very good. Previously, cayenne pepper was IDR 120 thousand/Kg to IDR 100 thousand/Kg, today I checked it was already IDR 80 thousand/Kg, good, and shallots are also in "The price is IDR 30-35 thousand/Kg. I think this is good," said Jokowi in East Kalimantan, as reported by Antara, Thursday, December 21.
The inspection at Waru Market was carried out by Jokowi on the sidelines of his working visit to inaugurate the construction of a number of buildings and facilities in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN), East Kalimantan. Jokowi said that in general the prices of other basic commodities at Waru Market were also quite stable.
Meanwhile, regarding the increase in the price of rice, which is now at IDR 14,000 per kilogram, Jokowi said that this increase occurred in all countries.
"Yes, that's all over the world, wheat, rice, everything is going up; because production is down, supply is lacking. So, the rice commodity is being fought over by all countries, all of them," said Jokowi.

He also said that the Government is currently continuing to increase rice stocks at the Logistics Agency (Bulog), including looking for rice stocks from various sources so that the national strategic rice reserves are truly safe.
