The Flow Of Irrigation Breaks Due To The Construction Of The Serang-Panimbang Toll Road, 80 Hectares Of Rice Fields In Serang Are Used As Industrial Estates

SERANG - An 80 hectare agricultural land, in Bojongpandan Village, Tunjung Teja District, Serang Regency, Banten, is used as an industrial area projected in the regional spatial plan (RTRW)."The rice fields projected to become industrial areas have been planned since the construction of the Serang-Panimbang toll road. In total there are 80 hectares of rice fields, which are used as industrial areas," said Bojong Village Head Pandan Hulman in Serang, Banten, Antara, Thursday, December 21.The reason for being used as an industrial area is because the condition of agricultural land experiencing water difficulties due to irrigation has been cut off since the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road. Thus, Bojong Pandan Village was appointed to become an industrial area on the rice fields."Actually, our rice fields in Bojong Pandan are not very satisfactory for the results, as the irrigation flow is now stagnant due to the construction of the toll road. Now, irrigation flows have not arrived here due to stagnation, which makes rice fields can only be planted once," he said.Hulman said that until now there have been no investors interested in entering to carry out land acquisition in the area."Until now, no investors have entered to carry out land acquisition. And the land is still being worked on by the land owner, waiting for investors to enter," he said.Hulman said that investors are suspected of not interested in land acquisition, because the land is agricultural land which makes the mechanism relatively difficult. Meanwhile, the process of buying and selling land is currently still being carried out between individual communities, not by investors."This investor may have difficulty managing his LSD, because this is a rice field, not land land whose notes can be built immediately. Such a possibility makes investors minimal to be interested," he said.Meanwhile, the Head of DKPP Serang Regency, Suharjo, said that his party has several strategies that can be useful, to ensure maximum agricultural land productivity and meet rice needs in Serang Regency. One of the efforts that will be made, by maximizing the number of plantings in a year so that productivity can continue to be increased.
"We maximize it with the existing rice fields with an increase in production, for example, one year or two we plant it to three times, the usual one we increase it to two times, and so on," he said.
