USSF Gives Contract Worth IDR 7.8 Trillion to Millennium Space Systems

JAKARTA – At the end of November, the United States Space Force (USSF) announced that they would choose the Epoch 1 satellite design made by Millennium Space Systems.

Although the USSF has awarded a contract so that Millennium Space can immediately design ballistic and hypersonic missile tracking satellites, the value of the contract that has been awarded has not been announced to the public.

However, recently the USSF leaked the value of the contract. From the Spacenews report, a spokesperson for the Space Systems Command said that the contract awarded to Millennium was worth 509.5 million US dollars or around IDR 7.8 trillion.

According to the undisclosed spokesperson, the contract value includes the entire process of creating Epoch 1. Millennium Space will be in control of the production and delivery of the satellite.

“In addition, Millennium Space will provide the command and control and mission data processing systems necessary to operate these satellites,” the spokesperson said.

In addition to revealing the value of the contract, a spokesperson for the Space Systems Command said that there were additional award options in the contract. This option will provide additional funds for launching and monitoring satellites in orbit.

“The full contract also includes additional award options to support launch activities and additional on-orbit operations for up to five years. "If granted, this option will add an additional 123.4 million US dollars (IDR 1.9 trillion)," explained the spokesperson.
