Justin Hubner Ready To Defend The Indonesian National Team, Federation Move From KNVB To PSSI Rampung

JAKARTA - The new naturalized player, Justin Hubner, is ready to defend the Indonesian national team in line with the completion of the process of transferring federations from the Netherlands (KNVB) to Indonesia (PSSI). This good news was conveyed directly by the Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir.

"After the naturalization process is complete, thank God Justin Hubner has completed the process of transferring the federation from KNVB to PSSI," said Erick Thohir, quoted from his personal Instagram page on Friday, December 15, 2023.

"Justin, who previously strengthened the Dutch U-20, is now able to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the near future," he added.

With the completion of the federation transfer process, it means Justin Hubner has completed the entire series of naturalization processes and has officially become an Indonesian player.

Previously, Justin Hubner had undergone the process of taking the oath of Indonesian citizens (WNI) at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta, on December 6, 2023.

He went through the naturalization process with the background of Indonesian blood from his grandfather, Ferdinand Rudolf Hubner. Rudolf Hubner is known to be a native of Makassar, South Sulawesi.

After completing the whole process, Hubner is now the sixth naturalized player under the leadership of Shin Tae-yong. Previously, there were Sandy Walsh, Jordi Amat, Shayne Pattynama, Ivar Jenner, and Rafael Struick.

With his valid status as an Indonesian citizen, Hubner now has a great opportunity to defend the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup. The event will take place in Qatar from 12 January to 10 February 2024.

Indonesia is in Group D with Japan, Iraq and Vietnam in the 2023 Asian Cup. PSSI has set a target so that in this event the Indonesian national team can qualify from the group stage.
