Sanctions For PSIS Semarang Revised By PSSI Komding, Only The North Tribune Is Closed

The sanctions imposed on PSIS Semarang after appearing against PSS Sleman were revised by the PSSI Appeal Committee (Komding).

Previously, PSIS was sentenced to spectator attendance in the home match until the end of the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season.

The decision on the revision of the sanctions was announced by PSSI through their official website on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Komding has made a revision on December 13, 2023.

In its decision, Komding reduced sanctions for PSIS. The new punishment set is that PSIS only has to close the north tribune of the stadium every time they hold a Liga 1 2023/2024 home match until the end of the season.

"Imposing disciplinary sanctions to the PSIS Semarang club in the form of closing part of the stadium in organizing the match when they host until the 2023/2024 Liga 1 competition ends, starting with the nearest match and a fine of Rp. 25,000,000 (twenty-five million rupiah)," wrote the statement.

Regarding the revision of the lighter sanctions, Yoyok Sukawi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PSIS said he was grateful.

He also appealed to PSIS supporters not to be provoked by chaos in the stadium and to learn from previous events.

"Alhamdulillah, today is a blessing for all. PSIS's punishment can be compared and we can all meet again at the Jatidiri Stadium," Yoyok said as quoted by the club's official website.

"Hopefully from all of this we can learn to be better in the future and PSIS has prepared a website and special application for ticket sales that is neater and can minimize leakage," continued Yoyok.

Previously, the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) imposed a match without spectators until the end of the season. In addition, Laskar Mahesa Jenar was also fined IDR 50 million.

The decision was then compared by PSIS because he felt that his party was being harmed. The reason is, PSS Sleman supporters were previously prohibited from coming to the Jatidiri Stadium, but they were violated and ended up clashing with PSIS supporters.
