The Minister Of Industry Calls The Indonesian Entrepreneurship Ratio Far Behind ASEAN Countries
JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita revealed that the entrepreneurship ratio in Indonesia is still very low. In fact, Indonesia is said to be reaching the peak of its demographic bonuses in 2030.
"I want to report that the entrepreneurship ratio in Indonesia apologizes for being still very small, only 3.47 percent of the total population," said Minister of Industry Agus in his remarks at the Gebyar IKMA 2023 agenda at The Kasablanka Hall, Jakarta, Thursday, December 14.
Minister of Industry Agus said Indonesia's entrepreneurship ratio was far behind from neighboring countries in ASEAN. For example, such as Malaysia and Thailand, whose average entrepreneurship ratio has reached 4.5 percent.
"Singapore is 8.76 percent, and these developed countries have reached 10 percent of the entrepreneurship ratio in their respective countries," he said.

According to Agus, the large population of Indonesia is not an obstacle to catch up.
So, he continued, the Ministry of Industry will continue to strive to increase the entrepreneurial ratio through various breakthroughs.
"We cannot argue that the Indonesian population is too big, we cannot. We must catch up with the entrepreneurship ratio with various policies, programs, policies, and tips that we must carry out together," he added.
