Ambar Movie Lifts Issues About Abortion, Mother-Child Drama Genre Pack Becomes Horror
JAKARTA - MAF World Pictures and Bianglala Entertainment announced plans to shoot their latest film which will be held in January 2024 located in Yogyakarta and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia entitled Ambar.
In the Ambar Film Congratulations event, director Alif Fajrian tried to explain the outline of this Ambar film. He told that this film tells the story of an abortion baby that is not known to be cared for by a child shaman.
"The film Ambar tells the story of an abortion baby who turns out to be out there, without us knowing it is cared for by a child shaman who is then used as a ritual for a pesugihan," said Alif Fajrian in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 13.
According to Alif, the issue of abortion raised in this film is quite close to conditions in Indonesian society. Therefore, Alif deliberately worked on this film to'reprimand' the abortion person regarding the consequences of this action.
"The Ambar film story is actually close and quite related to the current conditions, with the association of young people who are increasingly free and open. We want to describe at the same time convey a message about the consequences that we will get from each of our actions," continued Alif.
The film Ambar presents Dimas Anggara which says that the film Ambar is its first horror film. According to Dimas himself, when he was first offered he was immediately interested in the story presented in the film Ambar.
"You could say maybe this is the first time, yes. Because previously in Inang it was defeated, in my opinion, personally it was the thriller that I got," said Dimas Anggara.
"Here, this is actually horror, not horror, what is jumpscare, but I think this is because in terms of the idea the story is also interesting, it's also good, and with the story from Mas Alif the director, he explained that it made me interested in the synopsis of this story. The premise is good," he continued.
Uniquely, the film Ambar will invite one of the actresses from Malaysia Jasmine Suraya. Jasmine's involvement according to Mohared Nolizam, Co-Produser Film Ambar, this film wants to show the authentication of one of the characters from Malaysia.

"There is no specific reason why we present one of the Malaysian actresses in this Ambar film, we just want to present a character authentication that is originally Malay, so it minimizes language constraints and typical Malay gestures," explained Mohared Nolizam, Co-Producer of Ambar Film.
Apart from Dimas Anggara, the film Ambar will involve a row of other artists including Ingrid Widjanarko, Leony, and a series of talented young actors and actresses, Muhammad Hanief Aryo Wibowo, Zahra Macapagal, Jenny Zhang, Aina Nisa, Rayna Snova, Amanda Tan, and little players, Mickey.
The film Ambar is planned to be released in August 2024 in theaters throughout Indonesia.
