Europe's Best-selling EV For Two Years Ends Production
JAKARTA - Unpleasant news came from the French automotive manufacturer Renault. They announced they would stop sales from Zoe's model in the British market after being presented for 11 years.
It is stated that the small electric car will end in production in March 2024. Zoe's final version will be assembled in France and out on March 30 next year.
Reporting from Autocar, Tuesday, December 12, a Renault spokesman said that the halt of Zoe's production aims to pave way for the latest electric hatchback, Renault 5, to be featured in its production version in February.
Showing its existence over the years, this environmentally friendly city car has sold more than 380,000 units in Europe with 30,000 of them sold in King Charles' country. This car is the best-selling EV in Europe for two years and briefly topped the market in 2015 and 2016.
Renault Zoe had become a byword in various newspapers for being the third car to get a star zero safety title from the Euro New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) in 2021, which Zoe previously won five stars in 2013.

Bruno Vanel, Head of Renault Product Performance, said that updating Zoe's model would cost a fortune to suit EU safety standards. This possibility is one of the manufacturers' reasons not to continue the model.
However, Zoe has specifications that are not disappointing. Equipped with a 52 kWh battery, this car is capable of traveling with a range of 383 km in a single charge.
