Volkswagen New Generation Transporter Debuts 2024, Comes With Various Powertrains

JAKARTA - Volkswagen has revealed that the latest generation of Van Transporter will debut in 2024, which was announced via short video on its YouTube channel.

Quoted from the Auto Express page, Wednesday, December 13, the van is wrapped in thick camouflage and few visual details have been revealed, just like the relatively smaller LED lights combined with large windshields make visibility very good.

In the video, Volkswagen also reveals a wide range of powertrains that will be available on the latest generation of Transporters, where it will start with diesel engines, followed by all-wheel drive, plug-in hybrid, and finally, which are at the top of the list are fully electric e-Transporters.

Not much information was shared, it's just that it will most likely be announced as soon as preorders are opened to the German market before the end of 2023.

But it is estimated that the latest generation of Transporters will use the same platform as the latest Ford Transit Custom, thanks to the alliance between VW and Ford which began in 2019.

As is known, the partnership has yielded the results of the company's commercial vehicles, such as the new Ford Ranger and several models also come on the same footing, one of which is VW Caddy and Ford Tourneo Connect.
