PSV did compete with Lens for one ticket to the last 16. However, PSV is above the wind. The reason is, this Dutch Eredivisie club only needs a draw to qualify.

That target was also achieved when PSV hosted Arsenal. In that duel, PSV fell behind before successfully rising to equalize the score through Yorbe Vertessen.

Draw against Arsenal confirmed PSV's position in second place with nine points and brought them to the knockout round. A one-point lead with Lens who won 2-1 over Sevilla.

Lens finally ranked third and competed in the Europa League. Meanwhile, Arsenal, who had already made sure to qualify, pocketed the 13th point.

In that duel, Arsenal did field second-tier players. However, manager Mikel Arteta previously stated that whoever Arsenal brought down, they still had the task of winning the game.

However, Arteta even fielded a completely different starting line-up. He overhauled by fielding eight different players. The predicted starter team is difficult to win.

Only the centre-back duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes remained the starter to fortify goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale who replaced David Raya. Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah became a center forward.

Nketiah also broke the deadlock after the two teams did not score throughout the first half. He broke into PSV's goal in the 42nd minute.

The goal started with Reiss Nelson who walked through the right sector and then made a one-two pass withester Soares. He then gave the ball to Nketiah who finished it to a goal. A 1-0 score for Arsenal closed the first half.

Entering the second half, PSV played more aggressively. They try to take advantage of opportunities because the opponent does not field the best squad.

As a result, the game had only been running for five minutes, PSV equalized the score through Vertessen, who previously almost broke into Arsenal's goal. But his shot still hit the post.

He made no mistake when he met a pass from Ricardo Pepi to beat goalkeeper Ramsdale. The score changed 1-1.

In a draw, PSV continued to play offensively. They came close to turning things around when Ismael Saibari got a golden opportunity in the 66th minute.

However, his efforts still hit the post. Also, Bous Till's shot still failed.

Meanwhile, Arsenal scored a goal through Jakub Kiwior in the 81st minute. However, Kiwior's header was disallowed because of his colleague Gabriel, in an offside position.

Arsenal got another chance in injury time. However, Leandro Trossard's shot could still be thwarted by goalkeeper Walter Benitez. The draw lasted until the end of the match.
