Pondok Indah Golf Club Holds International Junior Championships, 12-14 December 2023
JAKARTA - Pondok Indah Golf Club in collaboration with the Medco Foundation, held an international junior golf championship. The championship with the title Medco Foundation powered by Metaforsa Pondok Indah Junior Golf Championship 2023, will be held at the Pondok Indah golf course, South Jakarta, 12-14 December.

One of the athletes who have participated in this tournament is Atthaya Thitikul. This Thai golfer last year ranked first in the LPGA Tour rankings. Thitikul won the 2017 Pondok Indah Junior International Golf Championship. In addition, there are Princes Mary Superal (Philippine), the champion of the 2014 Pondok Indah Junior International Golf Championship, which won the ladies professional tournament Simone Asia Pacific Cup last year. In 2022, this junior tournament was won by the duo of Thai athletes, Sucichaya Vinijchaitham and Kittada Kosalutta.
This championship was attended by 113 participants from Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, India, Australia, and the United States. There are three classes that will be competed, namely A, B, and C. Participants can participate are those aged 11 years to 19 years less than 1 day.

Hafzan Taher as Chair of Pondok Indah Golf Club hopes that Indonesian junior golfers will be able to show their best performance. According to him, this international event must be utilized by Indonesian junior golfers to hone their skills in competing in international level tournaments.

The Indonesian golfers who will appear include Rayhan Abdul Latief, Teuku Husein, Adrian Sulaiman Hasan, Javeed Abdul Rauf in the men's group. Elaine Wijaya, Amanda Sitohang, Keira Lau, Milany Adisty, Renoctoviana, and Reicherin in the women's group.
In 2019 this tournament was won by two Indonesian golfers, namely Amadeus Christian Sutanto (the son) and Lydia Hawil Stevany Sitorus (the daughter). Other Indonesian golfers who had won were Jonathan Wijono (2017), Kentaro Nanayama (2016), Alexander Valentino (2014), and Fadli Rahman Soetarso (2013).
