The Indonesian National Team Registers 50 Names For The 2023 Asian Cup, Including Justin Hubner
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team continues to make preparations ahead of the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar. Most recently, 50 names of players were registered, including Justin Hubner.
The deadline for signing players for the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar is closed on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Justin Hubner's name is included in the 50 Indonesian national team players who were registered because he had just completed the naturalization process.
The news that Hibner was included in the list of players in the 2023 Asian Cup was confirmed by the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi. He confirmed that the naturalized player was indeed brought in the squad.
"Yes, it (Justin Hubner is on the list of 50 players who were brought to the 2023 Asian Cup) is true," said Yunus Nusi when asked for confirmation online on Monday, December 11, 2023.
After sending entry by name the players to the AFC, it will later be narrowed to 30 players who will take part in the training camp (TC) in Turkey. Then, in TC, seven players will be crossed out.
The decision was based on AFC's decision which stated that the number of players in the 2023 Asian Cup participating squad was only allowed by 23 people.

Apart from the number of players who will be narrowed, Justin Hubner's inclusion in the Red-White Team's list of players is clearly good news. At the same time, it confirms that the Hubner federation transfer process has been completed.
The presence of Hubner will certainly be a valuable ammunition for the Garuda Squad because during the TC they will also face tough opponents in test matches.
The Garuda squad will face Libya in Antalya, Turkey, on January 2 and 5, 2024. Then, they will fight Iran on January 9, 2024 in Doha, Qatar.
In the 2023 Asian Cup, the Indonesian national team is in Group D with Vietnam, Iraq, and Japan who are tough opponents and a tough test to qualify for the advanced round.
