This Is What Tires Need To Pay Attention To Before Cars Cross Wet Asphalt

JAKARTA - Indonesia has now entered the rainy season which has resulted in wet roads with cold air temperatures.

Of course, this is a concern for car owners in driving their vehicles in this condition.

The low humidity temperature of the road with wet conditions or stagnant water makes the drivers wary of driving. It takes several actions before passing or carrying a vehicle through a wet road, especially on the tires:

Pay Attention To Tire Thickness

Before deciding to take the vehicle to the street area in a wet condition, the vehicle owner must pay attention to the thickness of the tires on his car. This is necessary to determine the level of wear produced by the tires.

According to Sapta Agung Nugraha, as Head of Cilandak Auto2000 Workshop, said that the tire has a "Wear Indicator" which measures the level of tire wear in the form of a triangular sign. If it passes 1.5 mm, it means that the tire condition is experiencing aus so that the potential for loss of force of cloves increases.

"The thinner the tire, it will reduce the grip on the asphalt, as well as the braking distance. As a result, thin tires result in a longer braking distance, if used on wet roads," Sapta told VOI, Sunday, December 10.

Avoid Tire Conditions Experiencing 'Numbers'

The owner of the vehicle must also pay attention to the overall condition of the tires. If there is a lump on the side of the tire, the round rubber needs to be replaced before passing through wet asphalt.

"This can cause tires to break because the tires can break," explained Sapta.

Avoid Cracked Tires

Also pay attention to the condition of the tires carefully. If there is a crack in the rubber round section, then the vehicle owner is needed to replace it immediately.

According to Sapta, tires with cracked conditions on vehicles are caused by excessive age or use, resulting in cars running non-optimally when passing through areas of wet conditions.

"This certainly affects when used on the wet road," concluded Sapta.

In addition, it is very important for vehicle owners to undergo routine maintenance both at home and at the workshop.

For extra convenience, several workshops now provide home service services, so that vehicle owners can more easily maintain the condition of their vehicles.
