Colored By Three Red Cards, Valencia Loses To Getafe

JAKARTA - Valencia must recognize Getafe's 1-0 advantage in the Spanish La Liga match at the Coliseum Stadium, Saturday, December 9 in the morning WIB. This tight and tough match was marked by three red cards.

The match between the two mid-table teams who both deserved to win. Especially after they qualified for the next round in the Copa del Rey.

Valencia and Getafe both fielded second-tier players while competing in the Copa del Rey in the midweek match. The reason is, they face opponents from the bottom division.

Even without the best squad, Valencia and Getafe could advance to the third round. Valencia eliminated Arosa 1-0. While Getafe won also with a score of 1-0 over Atzeneta.

The situation was different when the two teams dueled in La Liga competitions. Getafe who acted as the host and Valencia fielded the best squad. They try to perform optimally to win.

But Getafe was lucky. Striker Borja Mayoral brought the hosts to win the crucial match.

The victory made Getafe improve their position. Now, they have moved up to eighth with 22. Meanwhile, Los Che, who have 19 points, are stuck in 10th position.

The match itself went tight and hard. Both teams attacked both but no goals were scored in the first half.

Entering the second half, Valencia lost a player after Gabriel Paulista received a second yellow card followed by a red card.

The Brazilian defender was expelled by the referee after committing a foul by elbowing Juanmi Latasa in the 50th minute.

The advantages of the number of players are indeed used by Getafe to suppress the opponent. The possession of the previously balanced ball was finally more at the feet of the host player.

Only the position ball advantage that reached 62% has not yielded a positive result. Getafe struggled to penetrate Valencia's defense and could not convert chances into goals.

However, the patience of Getafe players finally paid off. Mayoral managed to break into the opponent's goal through a header that greeted a cross from Juan Iglesias.

In a disadvantaged situation, Valencia lost another player. Just one minute after the goal, Javier Guerra was sent off by referee Guillermo Cuadra for protesting loudly.

Next, it was Domingos Duarte's Getafe player's turn to act stupid. When he was ahead and the game was only a few moments away, he even acted inappropriately by cursing the referee.

Cuadra's tail issued a red card for Duarte. Ironically, not long after the match ended in Getafe's 1-0 win.
