Bawaslu Reminds Election Participants Not To Force APK Installation
JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) reminded the 2024 Election participants not to install campaign props (APK) by force.
"Installation (APK) in people's homes should not be forced, it is not allowed, the name of the campaign must be carried out voluntarily," said Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 7.
According to Bagja, the installation of the APK in a private house is not prohibited at all, as long as the installation is carried out the permission of the residents concerned.
He also reminded that elections are a democratic process, not a place to threaten residents.
"You shouldn't be threatened, voters shouldn't be threatened. This is a democratic process, not a threatening process. The democratic process must be happy, (must) please choose me, offer vision and mission, program," he said.
Bagja advised the public to report to Bawaslu or Polri if they received threats related to the 2024 General Election.

"(Reports) can be submitted to the police if they are threatened or can be reported to us so that they can be included in an election crime or not, or a general crime," he said.
In addition, he reminded election participants not to do money politics or exchange goods such as basic necessities with photocopies of voter ID cards.
"You can't use basic necessities. If you have basic necessities, including money politics, criminal acts later," said Bagja.
The General Elections Commission (KPU) has set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
