Bawaslu Affirms Campaign Prohibited From Using Yellow Plate Vehicles
Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja said yellow-plated vehicles should not be used for campaigns because they are public facilities.
"No, public facilities should not be used, for example, public transportation (urban transportation), it is not allowed because the yellow plate should not be used as a means of campaign. Yes, it is a yellow plate," said Bagja, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 7.
"Because let public transportation facilities become a common means, not become a means of interest for certain election participants," he added.
Bagja stated that his party had instructed the regional Bawaslu regarding the prohibition of installing campaign props (APK), such as stickers for election participants in yellow plate vehicles.
"That's why we convey the stickers (companies), even to the regional Bawaslu," he said.
Bagja also said that Bawaslu at the regional level had worked to ensure public transportation was not a means of campaign.
"The stickers that are pasted behind the angkot have started to be removed from the previous socialization because yes, socialization should not be carried out there," he said.
On the one hand, he said that it would be better for Election participants to use black-plated or putuh vehicles as a means of campaigning.
"If you want friends (election participants) to be able to make branding cars, it's just a matter of renting and attaching stickers and friends, please go to the black plate and white plate, please. Private cars, not public transportation cars," said Bagja.
