200 Iron Cover Drainage On Jalan Captain Arivai Palembang Raib Stolen By Thieves, Police Chase Perpetrators

Palembang Polrestabes officers are hunting for the perpetrators of the theft of 200 irons covering the drainage worth Rp1 miliat along the sidewalk of Jalan Captain Arivai, Palembang City, South Sumatra.Head of Public Relations of the Palembang Polrestabes Kompol Evi said the location of the theft had been investigated."Because this material is made of iron, it can be sold by irresponsible people to meet the needs of life," he said in Palembang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, December 7.Meanwhile, the Public Works Office of Bina Marga and Spatial Planning of South Sumatra made repairs and concrete installations for the sewer cover."Losing envelopes are being repaired and installed," said Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Spatial Planning PUBM Service, Affandi.Repairs will be carried out in stages starting from Jalan Kapten A Rivai and batch 45 until the end of December 2023. "There are approximately 200 vessels of drainage that are lost with an estimated loss value of one billion rupiah," he said.He said it would be replaced with a concrete plate to minimize theft because according to him, iron has a high economic value so that it can be sold.According to Antara at the location, the loss of the drainage cover resulted in a hole in the middle of the sidewalk so that it could endanger pedestrians.
Even a few pedestrians passing through the sidewalk could fall and it is feared that they will be injured.
