This Honda CR-V Rival Will Be Present In Malaysia Or Indonesia?

Chery, one of China's automotive manufacturers who is aggressively expanding globally, is now bringing the 'Jaecoo' brand to the Malaysian market. Jaecool, as part of the Chery family with Omoda, introduced his latest model, J7, which is planned to be present in Malaysia in early 2024.

Reporting from Paultan, Wednesday, December 6, two units of Jaecool J7 AWD arrived in Malaysia to undergo an initial road test with the steering wheel parallel to Malaysian traffic rules.

Jaecool J7 has a dashing design with a length of 4,500 mm, a width of 1,865 mm, a height of 1,680 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,675 mm. With this size, this SUV is ready to compete with the latest generation Honda CR-V.

The exterior of this car features a striking LED headlights and a wide grip design that gives a dashing impression. The back has a practical touch with elegant elongated light design.

The Jaecool J7 interior is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.8-inch mid-infotainment touch screen. The system supports integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless.

Drivers will enjoy luxury features such as electric and heating chairs, head-up display, back door hands-free, panoramic sunroof, rear air conditioner ventilation, ten airbags, as well as various driver assistance systems such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Lane Departure Warning, and others.

Jaecool J7 is powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine capable of generating up to 194 dk of power and 290 Nm of torque with all wheels driving. Supported by a dual-clutch transmission of seven speeds, this SUV can reach 0-100 km/hour in 8 seconds with a fuel consumption of about 7.48 l/100 km.

Chery also plans to bring the Jaecoo brand to the Indonesian market after the success of Omoda 5. PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) is expected to launch this vehicle in the country next year, especially since this car is also caught on camera passing on the streets of Jakarta.
