Pep Guardiola Just Boasts, Man City Even Beats Aston Villa

JAKARTA - Manchester City lost 1-0 to Aston Villa in the English Premier League match at Villa Park Stadium, Thursday, December 7 in the morning WIB. Man City Manager Pep Guardiola was forced to boast.

Guardiola seemed not to accept when Man City was under pressure. But it is undeniable that the draw in three consecutive matches shows Man City is experiencing a decline.

Not only that, the behavior of the players who provoked the referee in the match against Tottenham Hotspur in Etihad was also in the spotlight.

Striker Erling Haaland et al seemed to be out of control and full of emotion when provoking the referee who blew the final whistle as midfielder Jack Grealish brought the ball to Tottenham's defense.

Haaland also continued his curse on the referee on social media which led to the threat of sanctions from the FA. In that high-tension match, Man City was only able to draw 3-3. For them, a draw at home is clearly a defeat.

Guardiola refused if Man City was on the decline. Emotionally speaking, he later stated that Man City would win the league trophy for the fourth time.

He also counterattacked football's pundit by questioning Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher's achievements when he was still a player. Although he admits that Neville has scored a hat trick with Manchester United, he is confident that he will pass that record.

The problem is, only managers from outside England who often turn their ears every time they get criticism from the pundit.

Portugal manager Jose Mourinho also criticized and mocked Neville when he commented on Chelsea, his team. But for local managers, criticism from pundit is considered commonplace.

For the criticism directed by the team and players, Guardiola also boasted that Man City would win again. However, what was said by the former Barcelona coach was considered only to restore the confidence of the players.

The reason is, Man City cannot field the best squad against Villa who are on fire and always win in home games.

Meanwhile, The Cityzens lost Rodri, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne who had to rest for a long time due to surgery to recover a hamstring injury. Without them, the rich club seemed nothing more than a midoker team.

Another note, Man City lost Rodri every time he lost. This Spanish national team midfielder has been absent four times. And. all the games Man City without Rodri ended in defeat.

Including when appearing at Villa Park, Man City seemed to change into a mid-team and eventually fell.

These results make Man City have to drop the ranking. Now, the sky blue team is in fourth place with 30 points.

Man City has been shifted by Liverpool and Villa, who are now ranked fourth after pocketing 32 points. Not only that, they began to be overshadowed by Tottenham and Manchester United who managed to beat Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Villa set a good record. Unai Emery's side set a record of 14 consecutive wins in home games. This equaled the record when The Villans won the English league in the 19th century!

For Emery, this is his first win of 14 meetings with Guardiola. And, the former Sevilla coach deserves to win the fight with his rivals.

In that match, Man City could not show the best game. The tajir club has only become the month of Villa even though it has only scored one goal.

Even Villa fired a shot into the net 22 times. Compared to last season's treble winner who only fired a shot into the net three times.

However, the hosts had to work hard before breaking into Ederson's goal in the second half. Leon Bailey's home goal came in the 74th minute.

It started with Bailey's effort to bring the ball and fired a shot into the net. Only, the ball did hit defender Ruben Dias' leg and then slightly turned the direction so it slid into the net.

The score changed to 1-0 for Villa. And this was the only goal that was created until the end of the game.
