3 Victims Died Of The Eruption Of Mount Marapi Successfully Evacuated By The SAR Team

Three victims of the eruption of Mount Marapi were successfully evacuated by the National SAR Agency team in a state of death on Monday, December 4 at 17.30 WIB. They were found dead around the rock area of Marapi.

"The joint team evacuated three male victims. After being taken down from the mountain, they were immediately rushed to the local hospital for further treatment," said Head of Basarnas Padang, Abdul Malik, quoted from ANTARA.

However, the identities of the three victims are still uncertain because they are waiting for the identification process by the Police DVI Team.

"The identification process is ongoing at the hospital by the DVI team. Their identities cannot be ascertained whether they are a group of climbers or not," said Abdul.

Meanwhile, the evacuation process for victims of the eruption of Mount Marapi is still continuing. As of Monday night at 19.30 WIB, eight other victims had been found dead and two survivors were still waiting to be evacuated from Marapi.

"The joint team will immediately evacuate the two survivors. However, the ash rain that is still happening and the pile of ash around the area is an obstacle in the search for victims," he explained.

A total of 53 people have been evacuated down, including three victims who died. The search efforts continue to be carried out by the team by referring to the data of climbers owned by the West Sumatra BKSDA.
