Jorginho Asks His Colleagues To Have Champion Mentality
JAKARTA - There are many lessons that Arsenal can learn in the match week 14 of the 2023/2024 Premier League against Wolves.
Indeed, the Gunners won the match with a score of 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
However, a number of negative notes lurk. Arsenal are easily complacent when they are ahead.
This was realized by one of the Gunners players, Jorginho. The Italian passport player revealed that his team was lucky to be able to survive Wolves' threat.
He saw his teammates loosen after winning 2-0. In the aftermath, Arsenal conceded one goal towards the end of the match. Luckily no additional goals were created from Wolves, who at that time were stuck equalizing.
No wonder, Jorginho asked his colleagues to be more 'cruel' and continue to thirst for goals until the game is over.
"To be honest, this is a matter of mindset. You control the game completely and suddenly you stop doing simple things you need to keep doing."

The game looks easy and then you start playing games, trying to enjoy the ball. However, in the end we had to remember that we enjoyed scoring goals and not just playing games and putting pressure and situations we didn't need."
"Yes, I think we have to be more cruel, especially in the Premier League. The game is never over. When the score is 1-0, 2-0, you have to think that you need three, four, and respect the game," Jorginho said in the Mirror.
Jorginho, in other words, asked his friends to have real mentality and quality of the champion. You see, Arsenal is currently in a good trend.
The Gunners are at the top of the 2023/2024 Premier League standings with 33 points, two points difference from Liverpool in second place.
Performances in the 2023/2024 Champions League are also impressive. They made sure to qualify for the last 16 as leaders of Group B.
No doubt, Jorginho emphasized the team to get rid of complacency quickly and underestimate the opponent.
He knows very well the real champion's mindset because he has experienced various titles with Chelsea and the Italian national team.
Together with Blue, Jorginho has tasted the 2020/2021 Champions League trophy, Europa 2018/2019 League, UEFA Super Cup 2021, and FIFA Club World Cup 2021.
Shifting to the Italian national team, he has brought the Azzurri to reach Euro 2020.
So, Arsenal must change their mindset, mentality, and quality if they want to achieve their goals.
