Investigators Examine 92 Witnesses After Firli Bahuri Become SYL Extortion Suspects

The joint investigative team has examined 92 witnesses in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The number of witnesses was the result of an examination after the inactive Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, was named a suspect.

"For witnesses who have examined 92 witnesses," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri when confirmed, Monday, December 4.

However, it did not specify the identities of the dozens of witnesses who were again questioned after Firli Bahiri became a suspect.

Based on VOI records, the witness who was re-examined was Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar, Entrepreneur of a nightclub, Tirta Juwana Darmaji alias Alex Tirta.

Then, Brigadier General Anom Wibowo as Director of Investigation and Settlement of Dispute of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

There is also the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and former Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery (Alsintan) Muhammad Hatta.

Regardless of the witness examination, investigators again scheduled the examination of Firli Bahuri on Thursday, December 6.

"The examination or request for additional information against the suspect FB on Wednesday, December 6, 2023," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko.

The examination process for Firli Bahuri was carried out at Bareskrim Polri at around 10.00 WIB. The summons for examination, said Trunoyudo, had been sent and received by Firli Bahuri last week.

"The summons for the suspect FB has been received on Sunday, December 3, 2023," said Trunoyudo.

In the alleged extortion case, Firli Bahuri, who has the status of a suspect, is charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
