North Sumatra Police Deploy DVI Team To Identify Victims Of The Humbahas Flash Flood

The North Sumatra Police sent a Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team to identify victims affected by flash floods and landslides in Simangulampe Village, Bakti Raja District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency (Humbahas).

"The team that departed was led by Iptu dr.Edgar SpF and four other people consisting of the DVI phase, TKP processing, antemortem, postmortem, and reconciliation," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 4.

The North Sumatra Police DVI team coordinated with the Humbang Hasundutan District Health Office to identify the victims at the Bakarra Health Center. In addition, Hadi continued, the North Sumatra Police also established a DVI post.

"The North Sumatra Police also built a morgue and prepared equipment for the identification of antemortem and postmortem," added Hadi.

The North Sumatra Regional Police together with the Humbang Hasundutan Police, TNI, SAR, and Humbang Hasundutan Regency have evacuated three victims, namely Diana Sinaga (light injuries), Dian Lubis (died), and Tiamin Sinambela (died).

"Until now, North Sumatra Police personnel, Humbahas Police, TNI, SAR, together with local governments are still working on searching for victims," explained Hadi.

Previously, the North Sumatra Regional Police also deployed K9 units or sniffer dogs to help personnel in the field search for missing victims due to landslides.

Hadi explained that the sniffer dog is expected to help the team work in the field in the search for the disaster area.

"In addition, the North Sumatra Police also lowered heavy equipment to the disaster site to help evacuate," he said.

Based on information, flash floods and landslides hit Simangulampe Village, Bakti Raja, Humbang Husundutan Regency, on Friday night (1/12), at around 21.30 WIB.
