Amid The Evacuation Of Climbers Trapped In The Eruption Of Mount Marapi Circulating Videos Asking For Help

SUMBAR - Mount Marapi erupted throughout Sunday, December 3. In the midst of the eruption, a video of the mountain climber located in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) was circulated asking for help.

One of the videos was uploaded by the Instagram account @jejakpenjaki. In the less than half a minute video, a woman is seen affected by the ash rain of mountain eruptions.

"Mother help," said the woman in the video.

The video also shows photos of three male climbers who are in the same condition as the woman.

Previously, the West Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) continued to seek the evacuation of climbers of Mount Marapi after the eruption at 14:54 WIB, Sunday, December 3.

The Daily Executive of the Head of the West Sumatra BKSDA, Eka Dhamayanti, said that based on the latest data at 16.55 WIB, Sunday, December 3, all 13 climbers who climbed from Koto Baru had dropped.

Meanwhile, 15 people came down from the Batu Palano door. He said, based on data from the West Sumatra BKSDA online booking system and 57 people who had checked in at the Batu Palano entrance. Meanwhile, from the entrance to Koto Baru, there were 13 people.

"From Nagari Batu Palano, there were 54 climbers recorded on Saturday (December 2) and on Sunday (December 3) three climbers," he said Sunday, December 4.

Currently, Mount Marapi is at level II or the Alert category.

Authorities have issued a number of recommendations including people living around the mountain, visitors or tourists are not allowed to climb at a radius of 3 kilometers from the crater/peak.
