Ministry Of Education and Culture Employee In Nunukan Gets Arrested For Bringing Methamphetamine

JAKARTA - Civil servant at the Ministry of Education and Culture (Disidikbud) of Nunukan Regency, Kaltara, was arrested by the police for carrying narcotics of the type of crystal methamphetamine.

From the hands of the perpetrator, the officers found 50 grams of methamphetamine drugs.

The Nunukan Police Chief Syaiful Anwar said the arrest was due to information received from the public. After conducting a series of investigations, the perpetrator was successfully arrested at the Sei Jepun Ferry Port, Mansapa Village, South Nunukan District, Friday, February 12 yesterday.

"The arrest was around 10:50 p.m. local time. The identity of the civil servant who daily serves at the Disdikbu Nunukan is DR (32) who lives at Jalan Gajah Mada, Nunukan Tengah District", said Chief of Police Syaiful as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 17.

Apart from crystal methamphetamine, the officers also confiscated a blue sling bag with the Cuniky brand, one black cell phone from the Vivo brand, one white cell phone from the Nokia brand, and one unit for the Scoopy brand automatic motorcycle.

The chronology of DR's arrest took place on Thursday, February 11, when the police personnel of the Nunukan Police Force received information regarding a person (woman) who was suspected of carrying crystal methamphetamine from Sebatik District to Nunukan Island.

At that time, the police carried out investigations at a number of ferry ports from Sebatik Island.

Finally, according to the information received by the police, they found the perpetrator who had just arrived at Sei Jepun Port, Mansapa Village at around 14.30 p.m. local time.

After that, the perpetrator was secured for a search of her belongings. Police officers found a transparent plastic package suspected of containing narcotics wrapped in black plastic.

The perpetrator was brought to the Nunukan Police Headquarters for further investigation.

Based on the evidence of crystal methamphetamine that was found, DR was arrested under Article 114 paragraph (2) subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) RI Law Number 35 Tofu. 2009 on Narcotics.
