Jokowi Hopes Norway Contributes To Creating Peace In Gaza
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store in Dubai, the UAE, hopes that the country can contribute to finding a peace solution to the Israeli and Palestinian conflicts in Gaza.
"I really hope that Norway as a facilitator of the Oslo Agreement can again contribute to finding a solution for the immediate start of the peace process based on a two-state solution," said President Jokowi in a meeting on the sidelines of the COP28 World Climate Action Summit (WCAS), Dubai, United Arab Emirates. reported by ANTARA, A Friday, December 1.
As stated by the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat received in Jakarta, resolving the conflict in Gaza is one of the topics of discussion between President Jokowi and the Prime Minister of Norway.
Reporting from Anadolu, the conflict in Gaza has killed more than 15,000 residents covering more than 6,150 children and 4,000 women.

Environmental Issues Apart from Gaza, the meeting between Jokowi and the Prime Minister of Norway also discussed environmental cooperation between the two countries. Jokowi said Indonesia had succeeded in reducing emissions through controlling deforestation and forest degradation which had been proven and recognized globally.
Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat sejumlah komitmenresult-based payment yang belum diberikan atas capaian penurunan emisi tersebut.Jokowi juga menyayangkan adanya ketidakan beberapa pihak di Eropa terhadap komitmen Indonesia dalam pengesapan hutan dan lingkungan hidup.
"I hope Norway can provide a balanced view, especially regarding the European Union Deforestation Regulation which is discriminatory and has a major impact on 16 million people, most of whom are small farmers," said Jokowi.
In addition, President Jokowi and PM StEMBER are also discussing investment cooperation between the two countries. President Jokowi hopes that Norway can realize JETP's commitment as soon as possible and increase investment in the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) as a forest-based smart city.
"The experience of Norway in developing Oslo is already known globally and this will be very valuable for the development of the capital city of the archipelago," said Jokowi.
