Bima Arya Invites DPRD To Determine The Proposal Of The Acting Mayor Of Bogor
Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto invited the local Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) to start determining the proposed name of the acting mayor (Pj) to replace him according to the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
Bima Arya Sugiarto became one of the plaintiffs of the Pilkada Law to the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the interpretation of the five-year term held by the regional head for the 2019-2024 period to be reduced if he was replaced by an official (Pj) in December 2023.
Bima Arya said that although there was no Constitutional Court decision yet, he encouraged the DPRD to carry out its duties to prepare the names of potential replacements.
"Oh yes, that's the result of our agreement, yes, the results of communication with the Minister of Home Affairs, the Secretary General, the governors all. The process must run. We don't know what kind of decision (lawsuit to the Constitutional Court) is," Bima said. reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 30.
According to Bima, in order to consider the government that must continue, the mayor's acting process needs to be carried out, because the Constitutional Court's decision does not yet know when.
"That's why I encourage the chairman to process the names of the proposed mayors, because they have to, otherwise the Constitutional Court will decide when and how, no one can intervene," he said.
According to Bima, regarding the sustainability of the city development program which is still included in the formulation during his term of office, it is necessary to continue, both by the acting mayor and still by him until April 2024.
Previously, Bima, who attended the inaugural hearing with the agenda of a preliminary examination led by Constitutional Justice Suhartoyo, Wednesday (15/11), assessed that what was regulated in the 2016 Pilkada Law article 201 was more about the election time, not explaining the term of office.

Bima Arya said that he and his deputy Dedie Abdul Rachim along with other regional heads of the 2018 Pilkada, and had just been inaugurated in 2019 which was their initial term of office, so he saw a vacancy in norms in the placement of acting (PJ) at the end of 2023 while their term of office had not ended in five years.
Apart from Bima Arya, other applicants in this case include Murad Ismail (Governor of Maluku), Emil Elestianto Dardak (Vice Governor of East Java), Dedie A. Rachim (Deputy Mayor of Bogor), Marten A. Taha (Mayor of Gorontalo), Hendri Septa (Mayor of Padang), and Khairul (Mayor of Tarakan).
The petitioners questioned the norms of Article 201 paragraph (5) of the Pilkada Law which reads "The Governor and Deputy Governor, Regent and Deputy Regent, as well as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the 2018 Election results will serve until 2023".
"I don't want to make assumptions, just wait, completely leave it to the chairman and friends of the council to consider which names are proposed," said Bima.
