Huawei Launches S7 Electric Sedan for Chinese Market, Making Rivals Concerned
JAKARTA - Luxeed, a brand resulting from a collaboration between Huawei and Chery Auto, has officially launched the S7 electric sedan in China, with prices starting from 249,800 yuan or around IDR 543 million.
Quoted from the Carnewschina page, Wednesday, November 29, this electric car comes with very economical power consumption, namely 12.4 kWh/100km. As well as the advantage of the 800V architecture which is capable of charging 430 km in just 15 minutes.
Interestingly, Huawei has embedded many high-tech features in this electric sedan, such as 12 ultrasonic radars, lidar, wave radar, 11 cameras, all of which support ADS 2.0 (Autonomous Driving System 2.0), and support for self-parking functions.
At its launch, Huawei also claimed that NCA (Navigation Cruise Assist) would be available throughout China by the end of the year. As is known, NCA is driving software similar to Tesla FSD which is available in the Huawei ADS Package.
Meanwhile, the maximum range of this car reaches 855 km (CLTC), and the top trim level comes with dual motors and 365 kW of power (150 kW front motor, 215 kW rear) capable of going 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. On the other hand, the braking distance from 100-0 km/h is 33.5 meters.
Apart from that, the battery is supplied by CATL for the entry level model, while the other models use NMC batteries. There are three capacity options, including 62 kWh, 82 kWh and 100 kWh. Huawei claims the S7 battery can cover a distance of 215 km with a charge in just 5 minutes.
The S7 is the first model developed under Huawei's Smart Choice scheme. Luxeed EV will be offered at various dealers in China. As for its dimensions, this sedan with a futuristic design is 4971 mm long, 1963 mm wide, 1474 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2950 mm.

The Luxeed S7 started pre-orders on November 9 and received more than 20,000 orders in less than three weeks. Customers who order cars before December 31 will receive a discount of 55,000 yuan or IDR 119 million from Huawei to encourage sales at the end of the year.
Well, with many advantages, especially in terms of software and ADAS, plus a price that seems to invite war, it will clearly put pressure on competitors such as the Tesla Model 3, VW ID.7, and BYD Seal.
