Ministry Of Health Records 36 Of 59 Monkeypox Cases Declared Cured

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) confirmed that the number of cases of monkeypox or Mpox in Indonesia reached 59 cases, with 36 of them having recovered.

"The total is 59 (cases) with 36 recovered," said Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 28.

Nadia said that all cases of Mpox in Indonesia were suffered by men. So far, his party has not found any confirmed cases that have occurred in women.

As for one Mpox sufferer who died at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta some time ago, he confirmed that the death tends to be caused by a more severe patient congenital disease.

He also stated that another patient's condition, which is said to be in a fairly severe condition, is currently in good condition.

"The heavy ones continue to improve because they have received medicine for the virus," he said.

Likewise with vaccination, Nadia said the vaccination process was going well, where as many as 498 people who were targeted had received their first dose of vaccine, and are now in the second dose of vaccination.

Nadia revealed that currently, her party is also purchasing 4,000 doses of the MPX vaccine to anticipate an estimated case of more than 3,000 cases this year.

"Later in December, the second or third week will exist, so it is in accordance with the estimated number of our Mpox cases," he said.

Nadia appealed to the public not to worry about Mpox disease, because the disease is not like COVID-19 which has fast transmission capabilities, as long as the community continues to apply Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS).
