JAKARTA - A newborn baby HNM has not been in critical condition for a month and has to be treated at Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital, West Jakarta.

This happened after the baby that was born to Evayanti Marbun was suspected of being a victim of malpractice when she received treatment at Hermina Podomoro Hospital, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Evayanti's attorney, Charles Situmorang, explained that the alleged malpractice incident began when Evayanti checked her pregnancy at Hermina Podomoro Hospital on October 18, 2023. At that time the victim was a patient using the BPJS Health card.

At that time, Evayanti was referred from the first to Hermina Podomoro Hospital. Because the victim had to give birth by caesarean at Hermina Podomoro Hospital, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

"It was stated that the weight of our client's baby was 3,200 grams or 3.2 kilograms," Charles told reporters, Friday, November 24.

At that time, Doctor S who examined Evayanti suggested that ceasar surgery be carried out immediately. The reason is that his stomach condition has grown.

This also surprised Evayanti. The reason is based on the examination of doctors who routinely check Evayanti's pregnancy at Gading Pluit Hospital, the estimated day of birth (HPL) for the baby is around November 26, 2023.

"Because the baby's weight is too big, doctor S advised Evayanti to immediately undergo caesarean surgery," he said.

This time he came as a general patient, not a BPJS card user. Evayanti was again examined by doctor S.

Evayanti also explained to doctor S that the results of the examination at the hospital that she used to check up determine her HPL, namely November 26.

Meanwhile, doctor S said the caesarean could advance for two weeks and could be pushed back for two weeks. Finally, it was agreed on November 12, 2023 for the caesarean operation," he continued.

On that basis, Evayanti returned control to Hermina Podomoro Hospital on October 25, 2023. She returned to being a BPJS patient.

"Doctor S checked and said that surgery must be carried out immediately, dated October 31, 2023," he said

"Well, our client is confused, it has been agreed on November 12, 2023. Finally, doctor S set an action date on November 1, 2023," he continued.

Another lawyer from Evayanti, Rio Tambunan, revealed that his client underwent caesarean surgery as a BPJS patient at Hermina Podomoro Hospital according to the latest date determined. He was operated by doctor S.

After this action, Pediatrician M at Hermina Podomoro Hospital said that Evayanti's baby had a respiratory tract infection so that the saturation was low.

Therefore, HNM was hospitalized, while Evayanti returned home on November 2, 2023.

"Then on November 4, Evayanti got a call from the hospital and reported that the baby was healthy, had recovered," he said

"Come here, he (Evayanti) came here. He met doctor M. Our client also asked for medical or supporting records that could prove he was healthy and worthy of going home," he added.

Then Doctor M told Evayanti not to panic. Because the baby will return soon.

After that, Evayanti brought HNM home. However, not even one day at home, the baby experienced an unnatural condition. Then HNM's stomach circumference grew, lazily drank breast milk, defecated, high fever, and tended to sleep continuously.

"Therefore, on November 5, 2023, Evayanti again took HNM to Hermina Podomoro Hospital for immediate treatment," he said

After being re-examined, Evayanti's daughter was diagnosed with intestinal narrowing. Doctor M said that surgery must be carried out immediately.

"However, it cannot be in this hospital, because the tool is not possible, there is no doctor M", said Rio.

The search for the BPJS referral hospital took place from 03.00 WIB until 11.00 WIB. However, there are no hospitals that can immediately handle HNM.

"Finally we agreed to find a hospital with public or independent facilities. Well, when we conveyed that, the doctor conveyed it directly to me there, in the second floor room. Finally we got the Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital," Rio added.

On November 7, 2023, HNM was immediately referred to Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital. However, the diagnosis of the doctor at Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital is different from the doctor at Hermina Podomoro Hospital.

"This is not a narrowing of the intestines, but the intestines are leaking. It's different from the results here. Finally, the recovery of the situation was carried out so that it was stable, before the operation on November 14, 2023," said Rio.

After the operation, Evayanti received an X-ray photo or HNM x-ray showing her child suffering from an intestinal leak.

"Until now, his condition is critical and has cost up to today Rp 170 million," said Rio.

Evayanti's legal team sent a summons because there was no bright spot in the two meetings with Hermina Podomoro Hospital.

Hermina Podomoro Hospital officer Aulia said the summons had been received. He also said he would facilitate all these demands.

"We will receive this letter well. Then, for all the information and needs you ask for, we will complete it," said Aulia.

"Because we are here, it's like, there are some basics as well and we will answer and facilitate all needs," he continued.
