President Jokowi Places The First Stone For The Construction Of The Sorong Muhammadiyah Hospital
SORONG - President Joko Widodo laid the first stone for the construction of the Unimuda Sorong Muhammadiyah Welfare Development Hospital (PKU Hospital).
The laying of the first stone for the construction of the PKU Unimuda Hospital in Sorong was marked by the press of the siren button by the President of the Republic of Indonesia as a symbol of the construction of the hospital starting.
"From Fakfak Regency, I and my entourage took a plane to Sorong because they had made an appointment with the General Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive for the laying of the first stone for the construction of the PKU Muhammadiyah Unimuda Hospital in Sorong," the President said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 24.
Jokowi assessed that judging from the picture of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, it is an integrated hospital, because there are hotels and malls in it.
"I see that there has never been any. The business Amal of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive, which is a combination of malls, hotels and hospitals, was first in Sorong, Southwest Papua," said Jokowi.
The funds for the construction of the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital cost Rp256 billion from the APBN.
Jokowi has also promised the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah to send a team from the Ministry of Public Works down and see the field, take a look at the pictures so that they can be done immediately and completed next year.
"If the APBN allows, otherwise it will back down a little but it looks like it is." said President Joko Widodo.
Chairman of the Muhammadyah Central Executive Haedar Nashir expressed his appreciation and gratitude to President Joko Widodo who was willing to attend and lay the first stone for the construction of the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Unimuda Sorong.

"This is a special for Unimuda Sorong because even though they have often been to Papua, this is the first time they have been present in Unimuda Sorong," said Haedar.
This development is called a milestone for Muhammadiyah together with the people of Southwest Papua because the President approved Muhammadiyah's request to present a strategic hospital in Southwest Papua.
"This is a hospital that will be built by the President of the Republic of Indonesia through Muhammadiyah for the Papuan people. We are just a bridge to do good deeds for the health of the nation, so this is really an important milestone," he said.
