Taiwanese People Reject Type Marriage In Today's Memory, November 24, 2018

JAKARTA Memories of today, five years ago, November 24, 2018, the majority of the Taiwanese people disagreed with the legalization of same-sex marriage in a referendum. The Taiwanese people only want men to be paired with women. Not the same thing.

Previously, Taiwan's parliament insisted on presenting a similar marriage bill. They wanted Taiwan to be part of the first Asian continent to legalize same-sex marriage. The desire did not go smoothly. His refusal arose everywhere.

The legalization effect of same-sex marriage in the western world is spreading everywhere. lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders (LGBT) in Asia are attracted. Taiwan, especially. Local politicians consider the legalization of same-sex marriages to have high urgency as a series of human rights enforcement.

The bill was prepared. Likewise with the narrative. The owner of power wants to be part of Asia which openly supports LGBT and same-sex marriages. The bill has been getting louder since 2005. Since then the LGBT movement has taken the national stage.

This seriousness was greeted with a commotion by the LGBT. They are no longer dizzy to believe they are part of the LGBT. They tried to show themselves. Everything boils down to the support of Taiwanese politicians.

Politicians who support the same-sex marriage bill reach 56 out of 113 members of parliament. This condition is considered the door to the success of LGBT acceptance in Taiwan. A door for LGBT people to get equality, as other citizens get their rights.

However, this condition is not easily accepted by all Taiwanese people. Many people perpetuate their protest against the existence of LGBT. Mainly, religious and conservative people. LGBT is considered like a mistake that needs to be banned and cut off its chain.

President Tsai Ing-wen, who took office last spring, supported the legalization of same-sex marriage, and he argued that it would strengthen society. Politicians from all major opposition parties participated.

Hsiao Bi-khim, a member of parliament who introduced the bill in 2005, told that so far 56 of the 113 DPR members have voiced support for at least one of the marriage bill. This number is only one vote adrift of the number needed to qualify for the next legislative session, which began in February, in a New York Times newspaper report entitled TAiwan as a Same-Sex Marriage Pioneer (2016).

The push for the ratification of the same-sex marriage bill surfaced in 2017. The ratification of the bill will later be considered a historic step. All of this is because if the bill passes, then Taiwan will be the first place in Asia to provide permanent ties for same-sex couples.

This desire actually made the rejection even more massive. The majority of the Taiwanese people want to perpetuate whether a referendum that determines same-sex marriage is legalized or not. This option was granted by the government through a referendum that took place on November 24, 2018.

Like a tit for tat. The majority of the Taiwanese people do not agree with the legalization of same-sex marriages in referendum. They only admit marriage between men and women. Not men and men or women with women. Even so, Taiwanese parliament did not care about the results of the 2018 referendum. The Taiwanese government actually still insists on legalizing same-sex marriage into law in 2019.

The voters in Taiwan have rejected same-sex marriage in a referendum. This result is considered a setback by the LGBT pair. In fact, they hope that Taiwan will become the first country in Asia to allow same-sex marriage. It is also a matter of sharing child custody and insurance allowances for LGBT couples.

The vote on Saturday, organized by Christian groups supports the traditional Chinese family structure that rejects same-sex marriage. Even though the principle contradicts the decision of the Constitutional Court in May 2017, it is written in a report on The Guardian's website entitled Laiwan Votes Down Same-Sex Marriage as China Welcomes Midterm Results (2018).

The first official wedding of a same-sex couple in Taiwan was held in Taipei on May 24, 2019. This event was attended by several same-sex couples.
