JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the suspects in the corruption case of procurement used the money they got to buy assets of economic value. This allegation emerged after they found documents during a search in Jabodetabek and Surabaya, East Java.

"From the activity process, evidence was found and secured, including procurement documents, financial transaction records, and cash flow to various parties including transactions to purchase assets of economic value from parties named as suspects in this case," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, November 21.

Ali did not specify the economic assets purchased by the suspects. However, these findings were obtained when KPK investigators searched a number of places such as the Office of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Head Office of the Health Crisis of the Ministry of Health, a room at the LKPP Office, and the homes of the suspects.

In the future, investigators will analyze these findings and confiscate them. "Then it was confirmed to those who were summoned as witnesses, including the suspect," said Ali.

Previously reported, the KPK named a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) for the period 2020-2022 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number is more than one person.

However, regarding the identity and exact number of suspects in this case, Ali has not opened it. From the results of the temporary investigation, the value of state losses caused reached hundreds of billions of rupiah.

Meanwhile, the loss came from the project value of Rp3.03 trillion for the procurement of 5 million PPE packages. In this case, five people have been prevented from leaving the country.

The anti-corruption commission did not specify them, but they are Budi Badminton as the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Health, Hermansyah who is an ASN from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB, Satrio Wibowo and Ahmad Taufik as private sector, and A. Isdar Yusuf as advocates.
