Abu Bakar Ba'asyir Leaves Letter For Prabowo Via Gibran
SOLO - The founder of the Al Mukmin Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Ngruki, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, Abu Bakar Ba'asyir visited the office of Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka and left a letter to presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.
During his visit to Surakarta City Hall, Ba'asyir was unable to meet Gibran directly because of the busy schedule of President Joko Widodo's eldest son as Prabowo's vice presidential assistant.
"I want to meet (directly), but it's difficult," said Ba'asyir as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.
That way, Ba'asyir sent the letter to the General Section of the Surakarta City Government.
Through this letter, Ba'asyiringin conveyed his advice to presidential candidates who would later be elected in the 2024 presidential election. Apart from Prabowo, Ba'asyir also sent a letter to the three presidential candidates participating in the 2024 presidential election.
"God obliges Muslims who understand religion to try to convey advice to the head of state. That is my obligation in my religion, must convey advice," said Ba'asyir.
He explained that as a leader who is Muslim, then the leader is obliged to regulate the state by Islamic law and the law of Allah SWT.
"To be safe. Indeed, there are many conflicts from non-Muslims, but that's okay, it has been circumcised by Allah," said Ba'asyir.

He admitted that he had also submitted a similar letter to the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan. Meanwhile, for Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate, Ba'asyir said he would deliver the letter directly in Semarang, Central Java.
"For Pak Prabowo, we hope that those who convey their deputy, namely the Mayor of Surakarta Gibran. This letter is a letter of religious obligation, the ulama are obliged to give advice to the president so that in carrying out his duties he can save the country well," said Ba'asyir.
Regarding whether or not the advice was accepted, he said it was a provision from Allah SWT.
"I want to be accepted, whether or not, God will decide later. The important thing is that we have conveyed it," he said.
