Kendari Prosecutor's Office Receives Refund Of Money In The Nickel Mining Tax Corruption Case Of IDR 4.3 Billion
The Kendari District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) received a refund of the company's tax corruption case in the field of nickel mining transportation services for PT Bumi Sultra Jaya amounting to Rp4.3 billion.
Kendari Kejari Head Ronal Hasiholan Bakara said in this case, his party had received a suspect named Wardan, as Director of PT Bumi Sultra Jaya.
"We are asking the defendant in the tax crime case named Wardan as Director of PT Bumi Sultra Jaya, a company in the field of nickel mining transportation," said Ronal as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.
He explained that the defendant charged his customers who had been combined with the cost for taxes. However, in 2018 to 2019, the defendant did not deposit the tax into the state treasury.
"The defendant has received service rewards and immediately collected taxes to be deposited into the state treasury. It turns out that, for two consecutive years, namely from January to December 2018 and January to December 2019, the defendant did not deposit taxes into the state treasury, if the total tax amount was accumulated it was more than Rp. 4.3 billion," he explained.
The Prosecutor's Office continues to enforce cases of criminal acts of money laundering and corruption to take action against the return of state losses.
"Law enforcement, now is not only imprisonment but maximally for the return of state losses," he said.
This is in accordance with a message from the Attorney General and the Head of the Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) to seek a return on state financial losses.

Ronal said the money would be kept in a holding account pending a decision from the court to return the money to the state treasury.
"The defendant is currently still in the trial process, we will save this money to a holding account," said Ronal.
