Japan Masters 2023: 18 Indonesian Representatives To Show Off

JAKARTA The 2023 BWF badminton tour will continue to the Japan Masters this week. Total Indonesia has 18 representatives who will appear in the event.

The BWF Super 500 level championship will take place from November 14 to 19, nearest at Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium, Japan. All contestants will win a total prize worth US$420.

Of these representatives, there was a men's singles Jonatan Christie who joined the group. The athlete who is familiarly called Jojo comes with a title capital in his last tournament at the French Open 2023.

Apart from Jonathan, the men's singles also sent Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. In addition, Shesar Hiren Rhustavito also participated, but he will fight from the qualifying round.

There were also four women's singles who were sent. They are Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi and Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo who are struggling from qualifications.

Next are the men's doubles with the most representatives in this event. Five of them are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin.

Another partner is Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Rahmat Hidayat who fought from the qualifying round. These doubles previously made their debut as a new pair at the Korea Masters last week.

Then from the Indonesian women's doubles, only one representative, namely the Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi pair. From this number, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti's doubles are confirmed to be absent because Apriyani is still injured.

The other three Indonesian representatives are mixed doubles, namely Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, and Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah.
