Ministry Of Religion-Commission VIII DPR Forms BPIH Committee
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion together with Commission VIII DPR RI agreed to form a Working Committee for the Implementation of Hajj (Panja BPIH) 1445 Hijri/2024 AD.
"Commission VIII of the DPR RI and the Ministry of Religion have agreed to form a working committee (panja) on BPIH 1445H/2024M," said Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Ashabul Kahfi in a working meeting with the Ministry of Religion as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.
The BPIH Working Committee will discuss the basic assumptions and a number of components of the costs for organizing the Hajj proposed by the Ministry of Religion.
Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas previously proposed an average BPIH 1445H/2024M of IDR 105 million per person. This figure is greater than the previous year's determination which reached IDR 90 million.
BPIH's 1445H/2024M proposal consists of a number of components such as flight costs, accommodation, consumption, transportation, Armuzna, embarkation/debarkation, immigration, travel documents, to living expenses.
These components will be discussed by the BPIH Panja to be later designated as official BPIH. BPIH consists of the cost of the pilgrimage (Bipih) and the value of benefits managed by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).
In the working meeting, Minister of Religion Yaqut detailed the costs of all components that were used as the basis for BPIH's proposal. Later, the details of the costs will serve as a guideline for discussion in the Hajj Committee meeting.
In the previous year's Hajj, the government and the DPR set a Bipih of IDR 49.8 million (55.3 percent) and a value of IDR 40.2 million (44.7 percent).
Minister of Religion Yaqut said the preparation of BPIH 1445H/2024M used the assumption that the exchange rate of dollars against rupiah was Rp. 16 thousand. Meanwhile, the assumption of SAR exchange rate against rupiah is Rp. 4,266.

Then the 1445H/2024M living cost is the same as last year's SAR 750 which will be paid in SAR by considering the protection of pilgrims from large exchange rates.
"BPIH is grouped into two components that are charged directly to pilgrims (Bipih) and the components charged to the value of the benefit (optimization) fund," he said.
According to Yaqut, the BPIH component formulation policy was taken in order to balance the amount of the burden on the congregation with the sustainability of the value of benefits in the future.
