Bournemouth Bottom Team Humiliates Newcastle United
JAKARTA - Newcastle United did not move when facing the bottom team. Bournemouth successfully humiliated Newcastle 2-0 in the English Premier League match at Vitality Stadium, Saturday, November 1 night WIB. The defeat made Newcastle fail to replace Manchester United.
Newcastle were so strong when they beat Arsenal 1-0 last week. They even had time to slaughter Sheffield United 8-0 and destroy Crystal Palace 4-0 which completed an unbeaten record for the previous seven matches.
But Newcastle are helpless and have to admit Bournemouth's superiority is struggling to get out of the lower zone.
Only in that match, Newcastle could not field the best squad because they lost many pillar players. There were 11 players who were absent due to injury or suspended.
Including Bruno Guimaraes who has not recovered from injury and Callum Wilson who had to be sidelined. Meanwhile, midfielder Sandro Tonali underwent a ban on playing due to a soccer gambling case.
Manager Eddie Howe was forced to overhaul the starting line up and make Anthony Gordon a centre forward. However, The Magpies still failed to keep up with the hosts and had to lose.
The result thwarted Newcastle from improving its position. They cannot shift Aston Villa and Manchester United, whose points are still within Newcastle's reach.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth has not been able to improve his position. They remain in 17th or one strip above the team in the relegation zone.
However, The Cherries managed to get away from the pursuit of their competitors. Now, they have nine points and three points ahead of Luton who occupies the top position of the red zone dri team.
